About Transitions Training

Function First. Education Driven. Purpose Built.

Transitions Training was founded on a simple but powerful belief:

True fitness begins with function

While most gyms focus on workouts, aesthetics, or intensity, Transitions Training was built as a movement-centered training studio—where science, education, and real-world application meet.

We don’t guess. We assess.

We don’t chase symptoms. We correct systems.

We don’t rush strength. We build it on restored function

Our Philosophy

At Transitions Training, every program is guided by a clear hierarchy:

Mobility Balance Coordination Strength

This Framework Allows us to:

Our training is rooted in biomechanics, motor development, and nervous system regulation—because the body is not a collection of parts, but an integrated system.

A Studio Built On Education

What truly sets Transitions Training apart is its deep connection to higher education.

Transitions Training partners directly with the California State University, Fresno Department of Kinesiology, where founder Gwint Fisher, M.A. teaches Structural Biomechanics and Motor Development.

This partnership has led to the development of a 12-week Functional Training Internship, creating a pipeline of coaches who are trained not just in exercises—but in movement, assessment, and coaching science.

As a result, every trainer at Transitions Training:

Has formal education in exercise science or kinesiology

Completes an extensive in-house training process

Learns to coach movement before prescribing load

We don’t just train clients—we help develop the next generation of movement professionals.

Leadership

Gwint Fisher, M.A.

Founder | Director of Training | Professor of Exercise Science

Transitions Training is led by Gwint Fisher, a 20-year veteran of the personal training industry and a professor of Exercise Science at California State University, Fresno, where he teaches Structural Biomechanics and Motor Development.

Gwint founded the business in 2012 with his close friend Silas Ruiz (Ranchos Fitness and Wellness Center), with the original vision of creating a facility that bridged the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application. That vision has evolved into what is now Transitions Training.

With a deep passion for education, Gwint has built Transitions Training as both a training studio and a learning environment—developing internship programs, mentoring future coaches, and cultivating a culture of professionalism, curiosity, and movement quality.

His mission is not only to help clients move and live better—but to help raise the standard of the fitness profession itself.
